Bringing together family, friends, and good food always makes for a memorable time. If you bring a personal chef into your home for that special evening you can avoid hassling with restaurant reservations, finding a table large enough to accommodate your party, dealing with the loud party seated next to you, and wrangling over the bill. And don’t forget the traffic and the driving time.
With a personal chef, you don’t have the stress of shopping, cooking, serving your guests, and attending to the dreaded job of cleaning up later. You and the chef work together to create a special menu suited to your tastes and budget. Then you simply hand everything over to the Aha! Cuisine staff. Having a personal chef overseeing your party reduces the complications of entertaining and encourages a convivial atmosphere where the host is relaxed and fully engaged with the guests.
Aha! Cuisine specializes in creating memorable dinner parties for groups of 4-50, although all requests are considered. We can create elegant brunches, cocktail parties, intimate pre-wedding party dinners, celebrations, and special events. Aha! Cuisine is also available to make wine pairing recommendations, specialty cakes, and to conduct pastry-making demonstrations.
Every dinner party menu is unique. A successful menu should reflect both the client’s taste and the occasion, and it should come with a price tag the client is comfortable with. Arriving at a budget for the event generally involves two things: determining the time and effort required to create the dinner and the cost of groceries. The formula Aha! Cuisine typically uses is Professional Service Plus Cost of Food method. The amount of time and work which goes into creating the meal will depend on the number of guests being fed and the level of difficulty in preparing the menu.
Chef’s Time: This includes the time spent working out the details of the dinner with the client: the menu, the budget, the type of service required, and the myriad of details involved in throwing a successful dinner party. Additionally, the fee reflects time spent shopping, preparing the food, serving, and the final cleanup.
Food Costs: Aha! Cuisine will pencil out the final grocery cost on the day of shopping – normally a few days prior to the event. The fee is keyed largely on the protein selected. Think flank steak vs. tenderloin or bay scallops vs. sea scallops. Allowing $30 per person for food is a good place to begin when calculating the final budget. Each Aha! Cuisine meal includes two appetizers, a salad, a main course, two side dishes, and a dessert. Bread and spring water are always included. Extras not included in the fee but strongly suggested are an artisan cheese board, and wine pairings. Please inquire.
